Holiness

It’s been a few days since God showed up. To tell you the truth I missed His comings and goings. It was late evening. God asked me what I was doing and I told Him I was thinking about holiness. I took advantage of His presence to ask Him, “What’s the story on holiness and how do I get to be holy?” God told me, “a holy person isn’t someone in heaven who tripped and stumbled out of heaven falling to earth. Holy persons are people like you,” God said. “They have to face complicated problems and sometimes they’ve make mistakes sinning like you or less than you.” “Okay. I get your point, God. I know I’m a sinner. Don’t remind me of it. I and the rest of the world are sinners, some more than others! Does that exclude me from ever becoming a holy man? To tell You the truth, God, this conversation is not going to console me.” It seemed to me that God sighed and, I imagined, that He shook His head and said, “You’re not listening to me. You hear me but you’re not listening to me. A holy person is a sinner who has repented and atoned for the sin committed. That person keeps trying to imitate My firstborn, Jesus. Do your best to imitate Him and you’ll be holy.” “God, excuse me for reminding You that Jesus said a lot of things and did a lot of things we humans can’t do; all those miracles like raising people from the dead. I can’t do that.” God answered me saying, “with your mind, heart, body and soul always give Me more importance than anyone or anything else. Also, to show you’re love for me you must love every person without exception, loving them as much as you love yourself. Follow these two teachings and you’ll be holy man.” I wanted to continue the conversation but God had already disappeared.
